Hello there! We’re officially in week two of the New Year! Brian and I are still going strong on our no sugar diets (just three more days to go) and I’ve done a pretty good job of my other monthly goals so far. I’m a little anxious for the weekend to get here already because my sister is visiting us! Mallory lives in Des Moines (which is like 9+ hours from Fort Wayne), so she hasn’t made it up here since last July. She flies in Friday night and I’m SO excited for a sister weekend (plus Brian, of course). We’re also going to take a day trip to Indy to go shopping and see John Mulaney’s stand up show. Can it be Friday already?
In other news, it’s still winter out there. This week is actually supposed to warm up a bit, but only for a day or two — then it’s back to teens and subzero temps. If you live in the Midwest — or really anywhere in the US this year — you need a solid pair of winter boots. A good pair of winter boots is a game changer in making your winters a little less miserable. Growing up, I always hated winter boots. I always thought they were so ugly, so I never ended up wearing them. Luckily, winter boots are A LOT cuter now than they were in 2002. Here are a few of my favorite pairs that you’ll actually want to wear all the time.
