Hey there! With Galentine’s Day tomorrow and Valentine’s Day on Wednesday, chances are your social calendar is quickly filling up this week. A few of my girlfriends and I grabbed Galentine’s Day brunch yesterday at Trubble Brewing (where Brian and I had our first date!). In true Parks-and-Rec fashion, I ordered one of their waffle specialties — “The Ron”, a cornmeal waffle topped with fried chicken. SO GOOD. It’s been awhile since I’ve had a girls brunch date, but it was so needed.
I haven’t always been a big Valentine’s Day gal. I had been single for so long that I started to get pretty salty about the holiday. This is my second Valentine’s Day with Brian and I couldn’t be more excited! Honestly, we don’t do anything super fancy, but it’s still a fun date night — not to mention, a much-needed date night. We adopted our new puppy Autumn one month ago, so life has been pretty hectic. We’ve traded in our weekly date nights for pizza delivery so we don’t have to leave Autumn as often. My good friend Sara is going to be our go-to pet sitter and she’s having her first shift on Wednesday night so Brian and I can go out without feeling too guilty!
Our big plans for the night? Biaggi’s so we can eat #allofthecarbs, followed by DeBrand’s (a local chocolate boutique) to split a delicious gelato sundae. It’s the exact same date we had last Valentine’s Day and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Since the weather isn’t supposed to be awful (upper 30°s isn’t awful, right?), I’m ditching jeans and going for a skirt and over the knee boots, paired with a cozy sweater. And since it’s Valentine’s Day, I’m wearing some fun pink statement earrings.

Isn’t DeBrand’s the cutest little place? It’s definitely a gem in Fort Wayne. Have a great week, friends!
Until next time —
