Hello, hello! Happy Friday! Can you believe that this weekend is already New Year’s Eve?! This year has just gone by way too fast. I had a really nice Christmas break over in Iowa and Minnesota. It was so great to spend some time with family that I only see once a year! I’m heading back to Fort Wayne today and my mindset has already shifted to New Year’s Eve and the upcoming new year.
If you’re like me, you spent the past few weeks consumed by holiday plans, so much that New Year’s Eve hasn’t really crossed your mind. I’ve had my NYE outfit picked out for weeks, although Brian and I still have zero plans. As much as I have this glamorous picture in my head of us ringing in the new year downtown, I think we’ll most likely end up at our apartment playing games and watching The Office. The past few weeks have been exhausting for us, so we could both use a relaxing night in.
Regardless of our plans, I’m still wearing my planned NYE outfit. I picked up these AMAZING navy velvet leggings a few weeks ago and am totally obsessed! Not only are they super soft and comfortable, but also incredibly flattering and oh-so-festive! Half of the girls at my work pod have them and we’ve made it our mission to convince the other half of the girls to get them too! So what does one pair velvet leggings with? Well, this particular style has a higher rise, so I recommend something either cropped or tunic length. Although I’ve worn mine both ways, for New Year’s Eve, I’m going with a cropped stripe sweater and some suede slides. I love the pale pink and navy combo, and they suede and velvet mixture are perfect for NYE! You can shop my whole look below (note: the leggings are NOT sold out, contrary to what the shopping widget says).
