Hello, hello! Can you believe October is almost over? I feel like a broken record with how many times I’ve said that in the last week. This fall (and year) has truly flown by and the holidays are just around the corner. Between a full plate at work, multiple weekend trips and trying to keep up with blogging, I’ve had trouble staying afloat! November shows no signs of slowing down, so I guess I better adjust to this quick pace. It’s been awhile since I shared a life update, so I wanted to fill you all in on what I’ve been up to.
A few weeks ago I shared my Warby Parker home try-on on Instagram Stories to solicit help on deciding which pair is best. I naturally went with the most controversial pair — Louise Small in Rosewater. People had A LOT of opinions. From “I had glasses like those in 4th grade” to “my grandmother has glasses like that now“, the responses were colorful to say the least. But, I absolutely love them and have worn them everyday — which I always have been terrible about doing. It’s a win in my book. Brian recently got new glasses, too. I think he looks adorable, but I’m a little biased.
At Home Teeth Whitening
I’ve spent my evenings this month whitening my teeth at home with a Smile Brilliant whitening kit. As someone who is too busy to make time for herself, being able to whiten my teeth at home while multi-tasking is truly EVERYTHING. Earlier this week I shared a little about my experience and am giving away one free whitening kit! You can read the full post here.
Brian and I have traveled two of the three weekends in October for out-of-town weddings. The first weekend of the month, we drove down to Evansville for his friend Kevin’s wedding. Brian was in the wedding party, so I was on my own for most of the evening. I made the most of it by taking advantage of the open bar and subsequently leading the cha-cha slide. I was a hit to say the least.
Last weekend, we took the train into Chicago for my cousin Brandon’s wedding. This was hands-down the fanciest wedding I have, or ever will go to. The reception venue was absolutely gorgeous with both an outdoor patio for the cocktail hour and an indoor space for dinner and dancing. There was a live band, photo booth, open bar and five food stations including a mashed potato bar, build-your-own pasta station and donut wall. It was nuts. It was really fun to have Brian meet some of my extended family and get more quality time with my sister and parents. Chicago did not disappoint.
Things are about to get crazy. Brian and I are planning a trip to Denver in early November and need recommendations! We’ll be there 3 and a half days and are already planning to go to a Nuggets game, a day-trip to Boulder and definitely some hiking. Any restaurant, trail or activity recommendations are welcome! Shortly after getting back to Indiana, I’ll be heading home for Thanksgiving! Just a few weeks later I’ll be heading back to the Midwest for Christmas. I have a feeling the rest of this year is going to fly by.
Until next time —
