Fresh off my trip to Chicago for The Blog Societies’ 5th annual conference for work, I’ve definitely had my fellow blogger babes on the mind (read more about my trip here). I’ve always been a big reader, but in the past several months I’ve traded in my books for blogs. This is partially due to me trying to support my fellow girl bosses, but some of these girls just speak my language and are SO relatable. So, if you enjoy Pleats and Pearls, here are five bloggers I’m reading this month that you should read, too!
5 Blogs I’m Reading This Month
I met Nicole last fall and she could not have been more sweet or genuine. You know how you follow so many girls on Instagram and always wonder if they’re that great in person? Well, Nicole definitely is. If you’re a Midwesterner and want to know more about Chicago, Cedar & Rush is for you. Oh, and if you love anything related to fashion, decorating, or life in general, you know where to go.
So this one may be a little biased because I consider her to be a friend and she’s originally from Madison, but Maya of Charmingly Styled is so freaking awesome, it’s silly. She’s witty, honest and has the best dang clothes around. I was lucky enough to meet her through my job, but now I love meeting up with her whenever I’m in Chicago. If you love preppy style and relatable essays, follow her. Right. Now. Also, read her essay on friendship, because YES.
Simply Meli is a blog that I very recently started following. Remember how I attended a Blogging for Keeps workshop a few months back, which reignited my interest in blogging? Well, I discovered Melissa and her blog through that group and have been following her ever since. I absolutely adore her style and her down-to-earth spirit. She’s another Chicago girl (gotta give my Midwest girls some love), so if you love reading about Chicago, travel, style and everything in-between, she’s your girl.
Speaking of Blogging for Keeps, Jess is another one I discovered through their Facebook group and boy, is she a gem! Not only do I love her style, but this girl can COOK! I love the balance of fashion and food on her feed, and her blog is always inspiring me to be a little better today than I was yesterday. Don’t get me wrong, this girl seems so FUN, but of all her posts, this one definitely spoke to me the most.
I met Angela this weekend at The Blog Societies conference — but not as a fellow blogger. She actually does social media for one of the other brands sponsoring the conference. It was really neat to meet other ladies who do social media for a living and understand both sides of the blogging world. Her blog, The Thrifty Pineapple, is a life and style blog with a southern flair. Although her blog touches on a lot of topics from style and beauty to parties and travel, I love that she blogs about DIYs that are actually doable.
Until next time —
